CANADIAN BARREL HORSE INCENTIVE 2012 SUPER STAKES


DEADLINES-2012 Super Stakes Stallion Donation form Due Dec 1, 2011

2011 on farms picks are due at Thorsby in October or by mail. It is $100 per pick and $25 from the stallion service auction.

ACTUAL SUPER STAKES PAYOUTS

 The money raised in the Super Stakes Stallion Auction is paid out as follows:

75% of the total purse to horses with Super Stakes Certificates

25% of the total purse to the corresponding stallion owner (sire of the winning horse)

Each purse is then divided for payout:

60% = 1st place (fastest run x a horse with a certificate)

Remaining 40% is divided 2nd = 50%, 3rd = 30%, 4th = 20%

 2013 PAYOUT = $23 000.00

Below is info the 2012 Stallion Service Auction

* buyer must have the stud fee, a copy of the mare’s papers and their portion of the nomination fee $75.00 into the March 7, 2012
* if the mare does not have a foal the following year, the office must be notified in writing so that her papers can be moved to the next year or a replacement mare’s papers submitted

Sale in conjunction with the Futurity:

* any stallion owner wishing to enter a horse in the sale (any age)(if it is your year) must have a copy of the papers or the weanling’s application(with a copy of the stallions and mares papers) and the $150.00 Sale entry fee  + $100 super stakes fee (if eligable)+$15 transfer fee. into Alison by July 1st (no exceptions) when the  buyer purchases your horse you will have the $75.00 super stakes payment credited on your check
* the original papers, a copy of the papers, signed transfer and manifest must be in the office before your stall will be opened (no pending papers allowed)
* it is recommended that a picture accompany the entry / absolute deadline for pictures is July 1st
* Following the sale, the CBHI will hold the original papers until notification by the stallion owner that the check has cleared; at which point, they will be mailed out to the buyer.
* Only one entry per stallion and the owner must be the stallion owner.
* The buyer of any weanlings or yearlings of qualifying stallions has the option to pay the (one-time) $75.00 nomination fee to make that horse eligible for the Futurity “Super Stakes” $’s {stallion owner pays $100.00} at the sale.
 

Deadlines are going to have to be enforced in order to have everything organized properly.

An office will be set up during the sale where the buyers will issue their check and be put in touch with the appropriate stallion owner.

Concession and Bar will be open prior to the sale.

Grade horses will be eligible for CBHI money but they must have a certificate from UC Davis proving parentage         { see form and instructions w/link on the CBHI  website for detailed instructions – total cost is $80.00 USA funds }

Once a horse has been entered in the sale, a veterinary certificate stating the reason the horse is not fit to attend must be submitted prior to any substitutions / no refunds .  In the case of a legitimate substitution; it is the seller’s responsibility to provide an insert for the catalogue (and enough copies)

The seller must submit the write-up that they want listed in the catalogue with their entry by July 1st.  A separate write-up to be read by the pedigree reader at the time of auction must be in the office by Sept. 1st.  Please have some different information in the 2nd write up and enough information that it gives the reader something to elaborate on other than just the pedigree and what the buyers can already read in their catalogue.

Stallion owner must be in good standing in order to participate.

Super Stakes incentive horses may only go through the sale 1 time as a weanling or yearling.  Horses who have obtained a certificate from the stallion owner’s berth may go in the sale, but you (stallion owner) would loose on 1 farm pick for the year.
